£1000 ART PRIZE

GLOUCESTER CITY GALLERY AND MUSEUM

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

ARTournament is a ‘Mega-Arts-Competition-Festival’ and it’s launching on the

17th -19th August 2012 in Gloucester city centre.

Visual ARTournament will be judged by a panel, including

Ben Lewis, TV art critic (BBC2 Culture Show, BBC4).

The finalists will be exhibited at

Gloucester City Art Gallery.

HOW TO ENTER 2012 VISUAL ARTOURNAMENT

THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS THURSDAY 1st JULY 2012.

ELIGIBILITY

This competition is open to all artists living in the South West of England.

Artworks must be original work by a living artist and made after 2010.

Applicants must be aged 18 and over. Artists must be undergraduates studying

for a B.A. in fine art. All mediums will be considered.

PROCESSProcedure

Applicants are invited to submit artworks (2 max) in digital format (j.peg) by

e-mail for initial judging to; artournament@gmail.com

Or post a CD or DVD (film samples to be no longer then 3 minutes) to;

ARTournament c/o Sabre Arts, Sabre Close, Gloucester. GL2 4NZ.

Initial judging will take place between the 2nd and the 8th of July 2012. All

applicants will be notified of the outcome of the initial judging by e-mail by 15th

July 2012.

Successful applicants should bring their work for final judging on 3rd or 4th of

August (between 12pm and 4pm) to; Sabre Arts, Sabre Close, Gloucester,

GL2 4NZ. Artworks must be left without packaging and be provided ready for

hanging or display. Submissions to be clearly labeled with: a title, the artist

name and address, telephone number, email, dimensions, medium and price.

Unsuccessful submissions will be notified by 11th August and will need to

collect their artwork from Sabre Arts on 12th or 13th of August 2012, between

12pm and 4pm. Late collections may incur storage charges. Exhibited finalists

can pick up any unsold work from the gallery on 10th – 11th September 2012.

SALES

It is assumed that the artwork selected for this exhibition is for sale during the

exhibition. ARTournament charges 30% commission on all sales.

EXHIBITION DATES

16TH AUGUST - SATURDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER 2012

The VISUAL ARTournament winner will be announced at 12pm on the 17th Aug

2012 at Gloucester City Museum and Gallery. They will receive £1000 and

have their winning artwork exhibited with the finalists.

DEADLINE

Deadline for submissions is 1st July 2012.

PAYMENT

There is a competition entry fee of £10 per submission.

ARTournament take no responsibility for damage made to artworks during the

selection process and exhibition of works. The decision of the judges is final.
