Volunteer at Parabola Arts?
This volunteer role is part time, ideally one - two days per month, for an afternoon and an evening, 2pm – 9pm (depending on performance end time).
SHORT DESCRIPTION
We would like a volunteer to assist with marketing, including print distribution and mail out support in the afternoon, and then to steward our performances in the evening.
LONG DESCRIPTION
Parabola Arts Centre is an exciting venue with an innovative programme of theatre, dance, music and art. We are supported by volunteers who can gain marketing and front of house experience and help us spread the word about our programme and events.
Currently we seek regular volunteers who can come in for one/two days a month to distribute flyers and brochures around Cheltenham , help us with mail outs and general admin support. This will be an afternoon’s activity. In the evening you will stay on to steward, which will entail being a guide to our audience, taking tickets and basic fire safety regulations. Stewards also get to see that evening’s performance for free.
This position doesn’t require any previous experience. The role would suit someone who is enthusiastic about theatre and the arts, has knowledge of Cheltenham and is friendly and confident working with the public.

Soundtrack to a Surgery Waiting Room

Anyone interested in helping Shass out by provide a CD of your own music which could be used in the Surgery – please can you contact Shass direct
I sit on Bradgate surgery Patient Participation Group and one of the things that has come up is the waiting room music... and as law abiding citizens radio or any kind of copyright music cannot be played in a public place so the surgery is very limited to what it can offer its patrons... and patients don't appear to like what is at present on offer.
So I am wondering if anyone would be willing to help make a a soundtrack CD for the surgery's waiting room?
I think this could be a great opportunity for cross generation and cultural influences to have an impact in an area they may not of been achieved before.
If you are able to help or know of someone who would help can I also take this opportunity to invite you (them) to our next PPG meeting which is on the 6th March 6pm Bradgate Surgery, Ardenton Walk, Brentry, Bristol, BS10 6SP.

This popular class will quickly have you designing, cutting and assembling your own stained glass creation in a friendly and supportive environment. Based on individual needs, designed for both beginners and those with some experience, the course provides an opportunity to work on personal projects and covers a range of traditional and more contemporary methods. You will learn all the basic techniques of pattern preparation, glass cutting, leading, foiling, soldering and finishing and basic decorative processes such as painting and fusing.
