Stroud Olympic Torch Relay 23 May 2012 – Update 3

Olympic Torch Relay 23 May 2012 – Update 3

Detailed information about the Olympic Torch Relay route through our district is now available, please visit: www.stroud.gov.uk/london2012

We would particularly draw your attention to the information on events and celebrations, see http://bit.ly/GDrrWe

Now that more information is available please contact either of us from now until April 25th to notify us of your events planned for the 23rd May. We need to put together a picture of what is happening across the district so that we can help and minimise local disruption. If you have previously contacted us to say you are not planning anything and this has not changed there is no need to inform us again.

Potential Disruption
Please consider carefully how your school or business may be affected by this event.  We are currently linking with the police and the county council (highways) and information will be provided on disruption and road closures in due course.  This information will also be made available at www.stroud.gov.uk/london2012

How you can help spread the word
If you have a newsletter (e.g. a weekly school newsletter) or similar outlet please may you include the following:

On Wednesday 23 May the Olympic Torch will come into the Stroud District from Cirencester along the A419. It will then enter the town of Stroud at around 4.15pm and be carried through the town centre to Beeches Green, it will then make its journey towards Painswick to arrive at 5pm. Please visit www.stroud.gov.uk/london2012 for more.

Please feel free to forward this e-mail on to others who may be interested.

We look forward to hearing from you regarding any events you may be planning.

Very kind regards
Kevin and Jane
