Associate Artist Opportunity Deadline 6th January 2012
We are seeking to appoint a freelance artist/maker to work with the Craftspace Learning & Engagement Manager in facilitating and supporting the collective to;
· realise their creative vision
· organise themselves to effectively deliver the projects key initiatives
· liaise with relevant partners, including community groups, business, publishers, artists, festivals and arts organisations
· research and recruit artists/makers where appropriate
· recruit the next generation of the Collective
· identify and apply for discreet funding opportunities where applicable
Key Initiatives
· 1 day family workshop event in Northfield B’ham. Deadline March
· Publication, “Textile Guerrilla Toolkit” design and print inspired by the Clothes Show Live intervention. Deadline May
· Hay Book Festival, 1 day event – publication launch and young persons’ workshop. Deadline end of May
· 1 day family workshop event at Sparkbrook/Farm Park B’ham. Deadline TBC
· 1 day family workshop event in Erdington B’ham. Deadline TBC
· 3 day graduate event in St Philips Cathedral grounds (Pigeon Park ). Deadline end of July
Management
The freelance post will be managed by Craftspace Learning & Engagement Manager
Period of work
15 days over a six month period. Regular days will not be specified, the position requires a flexible approach co-ordinated to the needs of the Collective and individual initiatives.
Fee
The fee is £200 per day plus travel and other expenses up to the value of £50. Craftspace is not VAT registered and therefore the stated fee must be inclusive of VAT. The Associate Artist may use Craftspace’s office facilities including a hot desk.
