Writer/Director for Theatre in Education project at Worcester University

The Institute of Science and the Environment at the University of Worcester has recently been awarded funding from VETNET LLN to develop a Theatre in Education production to be performed at regional colleges and schools. The project is aimed at increasing awareness of the role of science and scientific issues in everyday life. It will be targeted at vocational college students and school pupils in the 15 – 17 age group. The theme of the production will concern the use of animals in agriculture and it will be designed to enhance students’ awareness of the ethics, welfare, scientific issues and practices in this area. It will also aim to develop young people’s awareness of animal-related sciences as University degree subjects. The production will be accompanied by a discussion, lecture and practical session and will tour to colleges and schools in the Midlands and South West - particularly to those where there is below average recruitment into higher education.
