GRCC manages and delivers a successful project called ‘People for You’. This project offers a FREE regular volunteer befriending service to isolated older people living in the Tetbury, Lechlade and Fairford area of the Cotswolds. The aim of the project is to reduce isolation in the community and involves a volunteer visitor calling regularly on an identified older person needing friendship and a listening ear. We know from research that this has a positive impact on their state of mind, sense of wellbeing and community belonging. Due to the increasing demand for this service we are looking for more befrienders.
